Gift Portraits from Photos

The above portraits were commissioned as surprise gifts, using photographs of the person. This makes a very unique, personalized gift which will be cherished for many years to come. To order a portrait, simply compile several good* digital or regular reference photos of the person or people and submit them to me no later than 2 weeks before the drawing will be needed. You may use one of my standard backgrounds, or design a custom scene highlighting the person’s hobbies, quirks, inside jokes, etc.
Prices (may be subject to change):
Standard background portrait, 8″x 10″ black and white: $25 per person with a minimum 4-person order required (plan ahead for multiple gifts for the holidays, birthdays, etc.)
Custom scene, standard size of your choice (8×10, 11×14, 16×20 etc.), black and white or color: Prices start at $100 and go up depending on amount of detail involved.
*Guidelines for good photos: Clear (so you can see details such as eyelashes), current (latest hairstyles and such), close-up (people being drawn together CAN be in separate photos so as to be as close-up as possible), flattering (make sure their expression is typical of them). When in doubt, multiple views of the same person are helpful. Try to get photos with a variety of light sources (indirect daylight, flash, studio lights, etc.) so I can get a sense of their face and hair/skin colors if necessary.
Purchase a nice standard frame (I use only standard size paper) and prepare to create a sensation when the gift is opened at their party!
