The Tropichicks are characters I invented at age ten. I am in the process of having a website designed for them (keep a lookout for updates). I hope to write many books about the nine characters, who are colorful fuzzy chicks, each with their own personality. WANTED: Local Artists and Crafters to share my studio space!

Are you a local (Providence or East Providence area) creative person who is looking for a safe, quiet place to work on your projects? As a mother of two young children I know how hard it is to work at home…to have a safe place to set up my materials, leave a still-life or a half-finished painting, and to find the uninterrupted (!) time to get into the creative process. I am opening my studio in Riverside, RI to a small number of creative people. You will receive a table and some wall space in a 600 sq. ft. room to house your ongoing projects and work in a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere. There is a bathroom with sink, and we will have a shared stereo system for music. A small room with a window off the main space can be used for storage and/or spray booth purposes.

The cost is $25 a week and includes heat. The electric bill will be divided up by everyone according to usage and time spent in the studio.

New! Arts & Crafts Birthday Parties at Noa’s Art Studio

I am excited to announce a new birthday party service I can now offer local families at my studio in Riverside, RI. It’s great for ages 5 and up, boys and girls alike. Especially good for Winter birthdays!

It all starts when the birthday boy or girl chooses a fun art project from the catalog either online or at the studio. They can also invent their own original idea for a project and I can help make it happen! You then decide on a date and send or give out the invitations I provide. From that point on, I take care of everything so all you have to do is show up for the fun! Balloons will be attached outside the studio so your guests will find it easily. You will walk into a cheerfully decorated studio complete with colorful tablecloths, balloon and cupcake centerpieces and a personalized Happy Birthday banner. Each guest will place their gift on a designated table and put on a colorful Noa’s Art smock to protect their clothing. Next we will each put on name tags so I, the instructor and facilitator, can address everyone personally. As guests continue to arrive, we will sit around the large main table and doodle with markers on white paper. Once everyone has arrived, I will introduce the selected project and make sure everyone has all the materials in order to begin. I will instruct everyone step-by-step and be on hand to assist anyone who needs a little help with any part. As we are working, cheerful music is playing in the background and the parents can sit on the couches, benches and chairs around the edges of the room. Water and/or coffee and cookies will be available to the adults as they wait. The art project will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete, and it will be dry and ready to take home at that time. Parents of the birthday child may take photos of completed projects as needed to document the event. Now comes the part where we eat and open presents! Homemade cupcakes in the flavor of your choice and healthy juice boxes are distributed to each guest. The birthday child can begin to open presents. Meanwhile I will be cleaning up the materials from the project. At the end of the two-hour party, guests can take their original hand-made favor home to display and enjoy.
